גֶשֶה טוּבְּטֶן טָאשִי

גֶשֶה טוּבְּטֶן טָאשִי נולד בטיבט בשנת 1957. בגיל שנתיים הוא ברח מטיבט יחד עם הוריו והגיע לגלות בהודו. הוא למד בפנימייה עד גיל שלוש עשרה, ואז היה לנזיר. הוא סיים את הלימודים הבסיסיים של דקדוק טיבטי, קריאה, כתיבה ושינון כתבים בודהיסטיים.

בגיל שבע עשרה החל גֶשֶה-לָה בלימודי הפילוסופיה הבודהיסטית במנזר סֶרָה גֶ'ה שבדרום הודו. בשנת 1994 השלים את לימודיו והשיג את דרגת גֶשֶה לָהארַמְפָּה, הדרגה הגבוהה ביותר במסורת הגֶלוּקְפָּה.

גֶשֶה-לָה שימש כמורה במנזר קוֹפַּאן שבקטמנדו במשך כשבע שנים. מאז הוא מלווה את מורו, ג'האדו טוּלקוּ רינפוצ'ה במסעותיו בעולם, ולעתים הוא מוזמן ללמד במקומות שונים.

Geshe Thubten Tashi

Geshe la was born in Tibet in 1957. At the age of two he fled with his parents from Tibet to exile in India. He studied in boarding school till the age of thirteen, when he became a monk. He finished his basic studies of Tibetan grammar, reading, writing and memorizing Buddhist texts. At the age of seventeen he started the studies of Buddhist philosophy in Sera Je monastery in South India. In 1994 he completed his studies and attained the degree of Geshe Lharampa, which is the highest rank of Gelugpa School.

Geshe la served as a teacher in Kopan Monastery in Katmandu for about seven years. Since then he is accompanying his teacher, Jhado Tulku Rinpoche, in his traveling around the world.
